Whoever is going to be tagged/cursed comes in with nothing but ears usually, in my group at least. They'll get a gun, armored rig, helmet, and backpack usually. It's something we just rotate around and it helps us pull more scavs. Plus it's fun to say "I'm giving you a loadout" and handing someone a tricked out m4 and whatnot.Get a x13 auto pistol, take it to a work bench and apply the impact point barrel + akimbo. I have experienced tagged and cursed on a raid where I was fully geared. No clue what was the trigger in this case and probably a bug. If you put gear on, it breaks the tag. Say you kill a few scavs and toss on a rig or armor. Pistol only (with spare mag of course) works consistently for me.

As far as cursed guns go - each weapon has slots for different attachments, and those attachments have slots for other attachment (eg handguards have rails). Pick a gun, start buying attachments to put on it, and have fun. There are a couple of mods that will allow you to put any attachment into any slot.
