Coop servers are invite only, the server would need to be started as a Dedicated server for you to be able to join without invites. Like beard said, you'll need a dedicated server. When joining servers you need to set your own username and password if you are joining for the first time. Just write your own made up username and password and it should let you in.Trying to make a non-steam server, to play with friends.
