The SIG M11-A1-D is one fine firearm and fits in nicely with my other SIGs, P239 and P226. I added a Crimson Trace Laser grip and had trigger work completed. My gunsmith reduced the first pull to 7 lbs. to match my other SIGs. As of today, I have shot around 200 rounds with zero malfunctions. I will be using the M11-A1 as my EDC piece.

The P228 was discontinued, or at least uncatalogued, from general commercial sales, back around 2005, I think. There have been small runs of "P228"s since then when SIG put P228 carbon steel slides on various P229 frames, and, of course, SIG continues to make P228s as fulfillment of the military M11 contract.Some observers have questioned why SIG would reintroduce the P225 when the company already makes the P239, which is almost identical and costs about $130 less. The P225-A1 is 1 ounce heavier than the P239, and the guns are about the same size. The grip panels are slightly different, but the controls are the same.
